Abstract Blues by Andrea Chiarantini

ABSTRACT BLUESSolo exhibition by Andrea ChiarantiniCurated by Niccolò RaugeiFrom August 23 to September 6, 2025Spazio Dinamico Arte, Via del Marzocco 16⸻The blues as a visual form: the abstract art of Andrea ChiarantiniSpazio Dinamico Arte is pleased to announce the solo exhibition “Abstract Blues” by Florentine artist Andrea Chiarantini, scheduled from August 23 to September 6, 2025, curated by NiccolòRaugei. The exhibition brings together pictorial and sculptural works born from a profound and spontaneous dialogue betweenvisual and musical language, in particular with the world of blues.“Abstract Blues” is an aesthetic and emotional reflection on the communicative power of music and its ability to translate into image, rhythm, color. A project born from the personal and artistic experience of Chiarantini, who states: “I really like the blues, for its direct simplicity, the simple structure that enhances the voice and the instrument. It is a music born from a soloist who expresses passion, a longing for freedom, rebellion and even melancholy, but above all energy. I always listen to blues music while I work, and it came naturally to me – as a visual artist – to visually translate these states of mind into painting, using simple shapes, repeated across multiple, colourful spaces, or synthesizing them in coloured iron sculptures.” In the works on display, geometric abstraction merges with the emotional charge of the blues sound: parallelepipeds, triangles and squares stand out on chromatically intense surfaces, in compositions that evoke movement, vibration and expressive freedom. The visual space expands, stratifies, acquires mental depth and perceptive:“Spatiality enjoys the fourth dimension – writes the artist – it uses the perspective reasoning thatannounces the depth, where the forms soar, fly and sink on their own.”The painted iron sculptures, an integral part of the exhibition, translate this sameformal tension into three-dimensionality: objects that play with the balance between weight and lightness, material and color, giving body to the visual energy that runs through Chiarantini's entire production.⸻An artist between project and visionAndrea Chiarantini was born in Florence in 1951 and graduated in Architecture. Since the 1970s, he has been pursuing artistic research that combines visual language, planning, and critical thinking. The author of audiovisual works presented at the University of Sociology in Trento, the Faculty of Architecture, and the Magisterium in Florence, in 1978, together with Kiki Franceschi, he created the Lavoisier operation, a series of object-books on the "artist's waste," a provocative and conceptual reflection on contemporary artistic production. In 1981, he joined the Roman group INI, and from 1991 onwards, he devoted himself to an in-depth investigation of the structural and formal elements of abstract painting. In 1992, he exhibited at the Pecci Museum in Prato as part of the Cartabianca series. In 1997, he created a public monument for the Municipality of Bientina (Piazza Leonardo da Vinci) and, together with Franceschi and Nicola Nuti, founded the A. x T.E.V. group. – Art for Traces and Visible Existence, born to explore the relationship between sign and identity. In 1998 he created Good Vibration, a monumental work conceived as an enormous modular puzzle, designed to adapt to any surface. In 2000, again in the public sphere, he created theFontechiara fountain in the province of Pisa.Since 1996, his works have been permanently exhibited at International Design in Florence, atestimony to his continued presence in the Italian art scene.⸻An Invitation to Visual ListeningThe “Abstract Blues” exhibition presents itself as an invitation to listen with your eyes: to let yourself bepermeated by shapes and colors just as you are permeated by a melody. AndreaChiarantini's painting, while rigorous and structured, is profoundly free, emotional, and pulsating. An experience for those who love art in dialogue with music, for those who seek in artistic gesture a wayto express what cannot be said with words, but only with a vibration, a chord, apictorial gesture.

Divina Centore presents... PHARAOHS AND FLOWERS The wonder of the gardens of ancient Egypt

"Thebes, 1350 BC. Under the burning sun, a hidden gem shines: the garden of Nebamun, a high official of the temple of Amun. Here, date palms, fig trees, persea trees, water lilies and papyrus reflect the power and wealth of the owner. Similar oases are found inside temples and other sacred contexts, as well as in private residences..."Saturday 6 September, the Civic Archaeological Museum of Camaiore awaits you for a presentation "to discover the secrets of the gardens of ancient Egypt. A journey through nature, myth and history that surprises and enchants."Egyptologist, Divina Centore has been working at the Egyptian Museum of Turin in the "Interpretation, Accessibility and Sharing" Department since 2018, where she deals with museum interpretation and editorial coordination for popular and scientific publications. In 2022 she curated the exhibition "Open Courtyard: Flora of Ancient Egypt" and In 2024, "Egyptian Gardens: The Vegetable Garden and the Funerary Garden." The author will present her book "Pharaohs and Flowers - The Wonder of the Gardens of Ancient Egypt," published by Il Mulino.
